The Interagency Information area presents relevant links and documents pertaining to locating and utilizing agencies that work in cooperation with schools, districts, and the state in order to assist students and teachers in a range of ways. Depending on the needs of the individual student, the agencies involved can vary.

General
The BEESS administers programs for students with disabilities and for gifted students. Additionally, the bureau coordinates student services throughout the state and participates in multiple inter-agency efforts designed to strengthen the quality and variety of services available to students with special needs.

Provides information, training and support for families through a toll-free number, quarterly statewide newsletters, fact sheets, tip sheets, Web site, resource packets, technical assistance, information, and in-service to schools interested in enhancing family involvement. The site also contains a resource library and database including information relevant to families and those who work with families is maintained, and materials and training for educators and family members to improve partnerships between homes and schools.
Transition
Resources available that provide information on transition including the following:
  • A summary and the contact information for a variety of agencies that either specialize in or focus on transition;
  • Clearinghouses which offer a variety of resources to use in planning and research;
  • A list of databases where you may search for specific information;
  • An exhaustive reference of helpful journals and newsletters;
  • An online contact directory containing information on Florida stakeholders with projects or roles that facilitate transition;
  • Web sites covering such topics as family and career resources;
  • Success stories depicting successful outcomes of Florida's youth with disabilities; and
  • Toll-free numbers for selected agencies and organizations.
